Every month, I offer gift sessions to people on a pay it forward or pay what you can basis.
Not surprisingly given the state of our economy, in recent years there has been a steady increase in the number of people without the means to pay for services that could really ease their suffering.
The monetary value of the freely given services I delivered in 2014 was equivalent to over 20% of my revenues. In 2015, I created this page at the urging of some seriously awesome clients who wanted to contribute to this effort.
Even within communities of apparent affluence, there are those struggling to make ends meet. If you’re like me, you may know something about this and feel compelled to offer whatever you can. My policy is that as long as I have the capacity to offer my work to those who can benefit from it, I do, and that means offering some sessions freely on a regular basis.
As a small business owner, I can’t always afford to do this, but as a human being, I honestly believe that I can’t afford not to do this. I believe in a world in which our caring is not limited to family, friends, and those who can afford to pay for it.
I believe that our well-being is interdependent, and thus, it behooves each of us to care for all of us as best we can.
I believe in a world in which people of all persuasions, backgrounds, worldviews, and socio-economic states can access resources that support our personal and planetary well-being. I consider this work to be one such resource.
Sometimes this makes it more challenging for me to pay my bills since my bill collectors still live in a world in which money is the only currency that matters, but this is one of the ways I choose to contribute to a world of goodness on a regular basis.
